Year 7 have had the pleasure of studying Frankenstein, both in the form of play script and Prose. There were many interesting ideas to discuss, not least of which contemplated the very nature of the creation. Was it born a ‘monster’? Omina, from year 7A, believed that the creature showed empathy towards Agatha, as shown by returning the stolen apple, so therefor he was born with an innate goodness.

The class considered how society formed and shaped the beastly nature of the unfortunate soul, and wondered how the situation could have turned out entirely different with just a little understanding. These musings were demonstrated through role plays: first the children performed a preliminary role play, then used these ideas to construct a script. For the grand finale, the groups performed their finished pieces in front of the class.
The role plays were not only finely acted, but also displayed a growing maturity among the year 7 students.
